Stale Dated County Warrants

Welcome to the County of Santa Clara Controller-Treasurer's website for stale dated County warrants (expired County checks to vendors).

In accordance with the Government Code section 29802, below is our policy regarding the reissuance of Stale Dated warrant:

  1. Warrants may be reissued if the warrant is less than six years old (from the date of the initial issuance), upon receipt of an Affidavit to Obtain Re-Issuance of Stale Dated Warrant and/or the original warrant, if available, and after a review of records indicates the warrant was not previously reissued.

  2. Warrants between two and half years old and six years old may be reissued, only if the amount exceeds fifty dollars, and if a review of records indicates the warrant was not previously reissued.
  3. Warrants more than six years old will not be reissued under any circumstances because record retention policies do not permit a thorough review to determine if warrant was already reissued.
